Welcome to the blog series of Criminal Jurisprudence of Bharat. This is Index page of the blogs related to the criminal law in Bharat. before going further let us know the names of Old and New Criminal laws as follows:

1. Indian Evidence Act, 1872 is old statute related to evidence, which is repealed by the new statute titled as Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023.

2. Criminal Procedure Code, 1898 is old statute related to the Criminal Procedure to be followed by police and courts in Criminal matters, which is repealed by the new statute titled as Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023.

3. Indian Penal Code, 1860 is old statute related to various crimes and their respective punishments, which is repealed by the new statute titled as Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. 

All the new statutes mentioned above came into force on 1st of July, 2024 when third Regime of Modi Government came into rule.
